Southern Tegridy - How we got started

We began our little family farm in May of 2013 when my leg was broke and David's family gave us two beautiful Flemish giant rabbits, Little Red (Doe) and The Big Bad Wolf (buck) for David's birthday.  It was their way of helping us start raising our own meat and also they wanted us to enjoy the hobbies as much as they have.  We are forever thankful!!

We no longer have the rabbits or turkeys and we were able to move to a 10 acre farm in Troup County, GA.  We have an amazing piece of land that will allow us to reach our goal of owning an Orchard and Nursery for Fruit and Nut trees that we love so much.  Our family goal is to provide the highest quality organic super foods to our local community.  We are growing Hazelnuts and Peaches.  We are planting, Figs, Blue Berry Bushes, plums and Apples in 2021.  We anticipate our fruit planting to increase each year for the next 5 years.

We have also decided to add several varieties of grapes and muscadines as we continue to grow.  My son Jesse has also decided we need to plan Olives so stay tuned for our Olive trees too in the coming seasons.
